Jessica Marek majored in theatre and political science at the University of Southern California. During her time as an undergraduate, Jessica volunteered with a variety of youth organizations in Los Angeles and taught art therapy to abused children. She was also a founding member of USC's Foster Youth Middle School Mentoring Project.
After graduating from USC, Jessica taught first grade in the South Bronx. She also earned a Masters in Education from Pace University in New York City.
Currently, Jessica is a second-year law student at the University of California, Berkley Law School. There, she has continued to be involved in youth issues. She volunteers as an educational surrogate for foster youth and teaches classes in juvenile hall. Last summer she interned with the Alliance for Children's Rights, a non-profit law firm that advocates for the legal rights of foster care children.
